A new series by the name of Four Rooms starts on May 24, 8pm on Channel 4. It is being described as Deal or No Deal meets Antiques Roadshow, boasts a Mr Nasty that makes Simon Cowell look like a pussycat. Jeff Salmon, the acid-tongued collectables dealer is tipped as the star of Four Rooms. The public are routinely insulted over their heirlooms in the show.
The owner gets to choose who of the four dealers in the room has first bid, and can only hear offers from the others if they turn down the one on the table. The items in the show include Victorian hangman’s ropea mummified mermaid, a piece of tattooed skin and a 60s Dalek.
Salmon, who says television is not ready for him yet, describes himself as “the wittiest buyer this side of Neptune with balls of steel”. The owner of two galleries in London, his clients include Madonna and Kate Moss and Uma Thurman.
